“Samsung Firmware Support Policy: Four-Year Android Update & Three-Year Security Update Period”

Samsung has announced that they will provide a longer support period to their users by renewing their firmware support policy. Accordingly, they will offer a four-year Android update period for the Samsung Galaxy S21 series and higher-end S models after. This means that users can keep their devices updated for at least four years.

Also, Samsung has promised to provide security updates for a period of three years. This means that Samsung users can use their devices safely for longer.

However, some Samsung models will not receive Android 14 (OneUI 6) update. Instead, they will stay on Android 13 and continue to receive security updates for a while. This will apply to many Galaxy phones and tablets, including popular models.

This new policy of Samsung provides a great advantage for users who want to keep their devices up to date. In addition, this policy of Samsung can set an example for other smartphone manufacturers and set a standard for devices to stay up to date longer.

MODELS THAT CANNOT GET UPDATE

Samsung phones that will not receive the Android 14 update include Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy Note 10 Lite, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy A22 (LTE /5G), Galaxy A32 (LTE/5G), Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71.

Also, Samsung tablets that will not receive the Android 14 update include the Galaxy Tab A8, Galaxy Tab A7 lite, Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2020), Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+.

These devices will have received their latest updates with Android 13 and One UI 3.0. However, these models still have many users, and the fact that they will not be able to get Samsung’s support may upset many people.
