A few days ago, it was reported that Samsung plans to adopt different processors in different markets for the Galaxy S series flagship, and now it has been confirmed by Samsung executives. At the 2023 first quarter performance conference held a few days ago, Hyeokman Kwon, vice president of the DS department of Samsung LSI, said that it will actively promote the reapplication of Exynos to the Galaxy flagship series.
Top executives confirm Exynos return
Although Kwon did not explicitly mention the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung used to adopt the latest flagship processor at the time when the Galaxy S series was released, and the Galaxy Z series of folding machines will follow. Kwon did not indicate which Exynos processor it is, but foreign media generally believe that the Exynos 2400 under development has the greatest chance. It was rumored earlier that the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and only the basic Galaxy S24 will use the Exynos 2400 processor. It is said that Samsung’s move is to reduce its dependence on Qualcomm and provide other mobile phones. The brand showcases the strength of Exynos.
Applies to Galaxy S24 only
Consumers in many countries have a bad impression of Exynos processors that have performed poorly in the past. Samsung is preparing to use Exynos 2400 in the Galaxy S24, which may disappoint them. Fortunately, if the Exynos 2400 is significantly behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, they can also choose the S24+ or S24 Ultra.
