Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A Samsung employee accidentally leaked internal company secrets via ChatGPT. Note, Samsung allows engineer in the semiconductor team to use the service chatbot AI helps their work.
Some of them, to fix the problem on source code. Unfortunately, employees often accidentally enter confidential data.
The leak includes source code for new programs, notes meeting internal, as well as other related information hardware.
Within a month, there were 3 incidents detected regarding the leaking of company information via ChatGPT. It should be noted, ChatGPT uses user data to train itself to be smarter.
This means that the information leaked by Samsung employees will be stored in the OpenAI system, the company behind ChatGPT, quoted from TechRadarThursday (6/4/2023).
In response, Samsung’s semiconductor division ended up creating an internal AI system for employees to use. However, the data size is limited to 1024 bytes.
According to reports TechRadarSamsung Electronics has sent a warning to employees about the potential danger of leakage of company confidential information.
In the semiconductor industry, where competition is fierce, data leaks can be disastrous. Until now, it seems that there is no way for Samsung to ask OpenAI to delete data that has already been leaked.
