According to stock information company Fn Guide on the 19th, SK Hynix’s operating profit forecast for the third quarter is KRW 6.7628 trillion. This means that the company managed to turn a profit from an operating loss of 1.792 trillion won in the same period last year. SK Hynix plans to announce its third quarter earnings on the 24th.
In particular, if SK Hynix meets the market’s operating profit consensus, it will exceed the KRW 6.4724 trillion recorded in the third quarter of 2018, which was a semiconductor increase.
What is interesting is that the expectations of security companies regarding SK Hynix have been increasing rapidly recently. SK Hynix’s operating profit forecast, which was KRW 7.096 trillion last August, was lowered from KRW 6.8206 trillion last month to KRW 6.7 trillion this month, but forecasts from securities firms indicating that the company will once again achieve an operating profit exceeding KRW 7 trillion. .
Recently, Daishin Securities predicted that SK Hynix’s operating profit estimate would be 7 trillion won, citing an increase in the average selling price (ASP) due to an increase in the share of 8-layer HBM3E and server DRAM which was given to major customers.

On the other hand, SK Hynix is expected to differentiate its profit as it has obtained a monopoly in the 8- and 12-layer HBM3E markets.
It is also worth noting that shipments of 12-layer HBM3E will begin to increase starting in the fourth quarter. Although there are some impacts in this period, such as initial costs, it is believed that the supply of HBM3E with layer 12 will expand in earnest starting next year and the contribution to profits will be significant.
