Samsung C&T’s Smart Home Platform Undergoes a Brand Change: Metaverse Model House Review [Exclusive]

It has been confirmed that Samsung C&T is developing a smart home platform that will be applied to its public housing. They are rebranding while upgrading the existing smart home platform. When the technology development is completed, a positive response is expected in terms of providing residents with benefits.

According to the construction industry on the 6th, Samsung C&T’s construction division applied for trademark registration of ‘Homnik’ to the Korean Intellectual Property Office in February. The results of the examination will be notified in May.

Homenik will be provided in the form of an application, and services such as bills (bills) and electronic bulletin boards are expected to be installed. When using this platform, it seems that it will be possible to control the house and make reservations for community facilities.

An official from Samsung C&T explained, “We are giving a name that can differentiate the existing smart home platform by improving it.”

Samsung C&T is also considering introducing a model house using metabus. It is known that they are currently negotiating with the direct branch. Previously, at a time when it was difficult to visit a sample house due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), directbang and others introduced a model house using the metabus.

Another official from Samsung C&T said, “It is true that we discussed the model house using Jikbang and Metabus,” but also said, “There is nothing confirmed yet, but we are thinking about various ways to provide convenience to customers.”

The construction industry said that smart home platforms account for a large portion of customer service. An official from the construction industry pointed out that “smart home platforms are being developed centered on large construction companies,” and that “existing developments do not fully reflect customer needs, so continuous improvement is required.”

He added, “In the future, the development of smart home platforms is expected to expand throughout the industry.”
