Samsung contradicts itself and now cell phone with charger is no longer an option

After openly criticizing the iPhone, saying that the cell phones with charger are essential, the Samsung “burned his tongue” and decided to do the same with the Galaxy SE Note lines. Other appliances must be targeted.

According to World Today Newsthe model Galaxy F23 launched in India no longer comes with the charger in the box (and this is not even a high-end model whose price could be taken into account).

The fact is that the company is already preparing for the charger to no longer be available in its entire line. According to rumors, the next to be affected by such a decision is the Galaxy A line.

Cell phone with charger will no longer be the standard of sale

According to information published on the Onsitego website, made by insider Yogesh Brar, the Galaxy F23 is an intermediate cell phone to come with the Snapdragon 750G processor, triple rear camera set, 5,000 mah battery and Android 12 from the factory.

Brar confirms the price at 17,499 rupees (approximately R$1,100) and states that the package says that it does not come with the charger – it is up to the consumer to use an old one, an unofficial one from the brand or purchase a new one with fast charging.

Remembering that the Galaxy A13 5G (classified among the Galaxy F Galaxy S lines) no longer comes with a charger and headphones. The mobile is considered to be between a mid-range and high-end range and was launched in December 2021.

After Apple removed chargers from the iPhone 12 line, one of Apple’s best-selling models, Samsung had made the decision to do the same on the Galaxy S, Z Fold and Z Flip lines. Now, it looks like it will again follow the path that Apple took and do the same with older models.

What seemed to be restricted to high-end cell phones, it seems, will affect intermediate and entry-level phones, making it a general standard for the company.

Commitment to the environment or increased profits?

Reducing the e-waste for which technology companies are always accused was the reason given by Apple that it decided to adopt a “commitment to the environment”. Critics, however, accuse the brand of wanting to increase the profit margin.

Such a measure goes against the European Union, which requires a universal charging standard for all devices and maintain the Lightning port.

At the time, the company claimed that soon the entire smartphone market would adopt the same measure and, despite having been “mocked” by Samsung, at the time that is what is happening at the moment.

According to the website of a European store, not only will the Galaxy M23 come without the charger, but also the Galaxy M33 (two entry-level cell phones from the company for people without so much purchasing power).

For now, Apple and Samsung are the only ones to adopt the measure (in the case of the South Korean company, tablets will also come without the accessory), while their more direct competitors – such as Motorola, reallyXiaomi and Redmi – continue to make the charger available with no change forecast.
