Samsung confirms that there will be no new Note

Samsung has introduced new phones in the Note series every year since the first Note in the autumn of 2011. Note was one of the very first smart phones with a focus on offering a large screen, something that has become standard today.

The series was also aimed more at technology enthusiasts than the flagships in the S-series. Note has often had slightly sharper hardware and has been the series where Samsung tested its latest technology. Apart from the 2016 Galaxy Note 7 which was canceled due to serious battery problems, the series has continued year after year.

Already in August last year claimed a report that Samsung will not release any new Note this year and instead offer the S Pen for more models. The very early rumor turned out to be true, as Samsung has now confirmed that there will be no new Note during the autumn.

Samsung will instead offer similar functionality, including the S Pen, in more phones – something the company has also mentioned earlier. How it will be in the future remains to be seen, but it is likely that Samsung sees the Galaxy Fold as a replacement for the Note.

Instead of unveiling a new Galaxy Note this time around, we will further broaden beloved Note features to more Samsung Galaxy devices. In the meantime, mark your calendars and tune in to our Unpacked event on August 11 to see what unfolds.
