Samsung has not announced when this technology will roll out to Galaxy devices. French fingerprint sensor maker ISORG says its organic photo diode (OPD) technology is ready for scanning multiple fingerprints. Also, Samsung will likely use similar materials and processes for its all-in-one OLED 2.0 fingerprint scanner.
The ISORG CEO expects Samsung to release its multi-fingerprint scanning technology in 2025. The technology would then become the standard for security. It is not yet clear whether Apple will adopt this technology, because the latest iPhone models have replaced fingerprint unlocking with Face ID. Samsung will likely be the first company to introduce multiple fingerprint scanning to become the industry leader in this particular space.
