Samsung launched a new phone for middle-class users called Galaxy A23 5G, which came about 5 months after the launch of the 4G model.
The new phone has so many specs similar to the 4G LTE model that you might think that there is no difference between them but in fact there are some subtle differences to mention.
Firstly, the Galaxy A23 5G model has a 6.6-inch FHD+ waterdrop notch display that houses the front camera that houses an 8MP sensor for selfies and video calls.
The screen of the Galaxy A23 5G is an LCD display panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz. Unfortunately, there are some compromises that the Korean company decided to sacrifice, such as the design of the phone, as the phone has very thick bezels, which means that it is a first-class budget phone.
But the back side is an entirely different story. The phone features a professional quad camera that includes a 50-megapixel main sensor supported by the OIS optical stabilization system to combat side vibrations, accompanied by a 5-megapixel ultra-wide lens and two 2-megapixel macro and depth cameras.
All rear cameras are housed in a rectangular protrusion protruding from the rear side, which is the same location as the LED flash unit.
It seems that Samsung decided not to disclose the type of processing chip used in the phone, however there are a number of reports that confirmed that the phone contains a Snapdragon 685 SoC processor paired with 8 GB of random memory and 128 GB of storage. In addition, the phone has a microSD card reader slot with a maximum storage capacity of 1 TB.
The affordable Galaxy A23 5G packs a massive 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W fast wired charging via USB-C.
Additional features of the phone include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner above the power button, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and of course with cellular connectivity via the 5G network.
The only notable difference between it and the 4G model is that the second one has a Snapdragon 680 SoC which only supports 4G network.
The design and the placement of the buttons are exactly the same as the 4G model, but the new phone measures 165.4 x 76.9 x 8.4 mm. So, it looks like Samsung has decided to launch the exact same phone but with support for 5G connectivity through the Snapdragon 685 SoC.
The company has not revealed the price of the phone yet, but many rumors have stated that it will come at a value of approximately 300 euros for European markets and is expected to arrive in the United States and the rest of other markets at a later time. The phone is available in four colors including orange, light blue, black and white.
