Samsung is meeting on March 17 for an event dedicated to the Galaxy A. The manufacturer should present the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A73.
After the announcement of its new high-end Galaxy S22 smartphones, Samsung is thinking of the Galaxy A. The manufacturer is going down a notch in terms of prestige, but this meeting promises to be just as important. Indeed, this more affordable Series A has become the South Korean giant’s priority to retain its world number one crown. Samsung will hold a Galaxy A event on March 17 and promises to “democratize the latest Galaxy innovations for everyone”. The conference will be followed on his YouTube channel from 4:00 p.m. and several new features are expected.
What to expect from the new Galaxy A?
The manufacturer does not detail its program, contenting itself with mentioning the arrival of new Galaxy A. Its meeting will take place one year to the day after the presentation of the Galaxy A52, A52 5G and A72. During the event, we therefore expect to see their successors disembark.
For the past few days, we have been carefully following the latest information concerning the Galaxy A53 and A73. These two smartphones are the subject of leaks and will probably be formalized by Samsung during the event on Wednesday. Physically, the brand should play the continuity card by offering few aesthetic changes. On the other hand, we can hope for improvements inside such as the arrival of a new chip and new features for the photo component.
AMOLED screens at 90 or 120 Hz are expected, with a larger format for the Galaxy A73. Its slab would peak at 6.7 inches against around 6.5 inches for the A53. Inside, Samsung would choose a Snapdragon 750G or 778G (A73) chip from Qualcomm or an in-house Exynos 1200 or 1280 (A53) solution. The amount of RAM will reach 6 GB on the A53 and 8 GB for the A73, with 128 to 256 GB of storage. We also expect to find four photo sensors on the back of these devices.
Galaxy A53 and A73: Samsung wants to overshadow the iPhone SE and Chinese brands
The Galaxy A53 would offer a main sensor of 64 megapixels, associated with an ultra wide-angle of 12 megapixels; a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. Note that the video part would not be outdone with the possibility of filming up to 8K at 24 fps or 60 fps. The Samsung Galaxy A53 would be the first A model to offer such recording capabilities.

The Galaxy A73 is said to have a 64-megapixel or 108-megapixel main module. It would add a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens and a 5-megapixel macro module. On the other hand, Samsung would still not respond to the Chinese competition in terms of fast charging. Both devices would have a 5,000 mAh battery, compatible with 25 W charging.
In addition to these two models, the South Korean giant must also launch Galaxy A33 and A23. These entry-level smartphones would complete an ambitious series. Samsung will want to respond to Apple’s iPhone SE 3 in the mid-range and the Chinese armada, led by Xiaomi.
