Great sadness not only in the running scene. Samson Kandie, a former winner of the Vienna Marathon, died in Kenya from brutal injuries sustained in a robbery. The Vienna City Marathon announced this on Sunday.
The 53-year-old won the VCM in 2004 in the then course record time of 2:08:35. He named his daughter, born soon after, “Vienna”.
