(uwo) In the fight for a better starting position before the end of the first half of the season, Teutonia St. Toenis set an impressive example. The top division football team beat 1. FC Mönchengladbach 7-0 (3-0) on Saturday evening and reduced the gap to the top half of the table to six points. Player of the evening was Samed Yesil. Before the catch-up game in Ratingen (Wednesday, 7.30 p.m.) the 27-year-old attacker stood out with four goals and three assists from a good team of visitors.
The Teutons were tactically well adjusted on the small artificial turf and were clearly superior in football right from the start. After preliminary work by Lukas Stiels, Yesil scored an early lead (10′), which Niklas Withofs extended after Yesil’s failed attempt (25′). The FC put up a lot of physical effort against the St. Töniser game, which was just not enough that evening. Teutonia was unimpressed and pulled his boot through. Yesil took the well-deserved 3-0 lead after a follow-up shot after Leonard Bajraktari was saved by the good keeper Solomon Martins (35′).

Even after the change of sides, the clear superiority of the green and yellow remained. However, Teutonia still had to be on their guard as, remarkably, the hosts never gave up. With his third goal, Yesil finally answered the question of who would leave the place as the winner (50th) after the preliminary work by Stiels. Brian Dollen later increased to 5:0 (70th) after a Yesil pass. Seven minutes later, Yesil was there again after Dominik Dohmen won the ball and completed the half-dozen (77′). The final point was set by Bajraktari (84th).

Coach Josef Cherfi was very satisfied: “Fortunately we continued there what we did against Monheim in the first half. There is little I can criticize.”
