One more vote is added to the ND MPs who voted against the marriage equality bill, as “due to the carelessness of Parliament employees”, as informed by Kostas Tasoulas, the vote of Giorgos Karasmanis was registered as “yes”.
In particular, the Speaker of the Parliament clarified that MP Pellis with the ND did vote against, attributing the responsibility for the “confucius” to the employees of the Parliament.
According to the information, while Mr. Karasmanis initially tried to vote through the electronic system, in the end he could not succeed!
So they called him to inform him that he had not typed his vote confirmation, so he decided to vote by paper.
However, “due to oversight by officials” his vote was registered in the positives.
According to the same information, Mr. Karasmanis visited Mr. Tasoula’s office on Friday morning to express his protest, asking to meet the employees as well.
In any case, the final result of the roll-call vote is 175 in favor, 77 against, 2 present and 46 MPs abstained. Of these, 21 members of the coalition voted against and 31 abstained, raising the number of those who did not support the bill to 52.
