Former Kadiv Propam Polri Freddy Sambo confessed he was embarrassed when he faced his former staff at trial for obstruction of justice in murder investigation Brigadier Joshua Hutabarat. Sambo said he was sorry and would be held responsible for everything.
This was revealed by Sambo when he became a witness in the bungled murder investigation of Brigadier Yosua Hutabarat with the defendant, former Chief of Sub-I, Sub-Directorate III Dittipidum Bareskrim Polri AKP Irfan Widyanto at South Jakarta District Court, Friday (12/16/2022) yesterday.
Initially, Irfan’s lawyer Ragahdo Yosodiningrat asked if Irfan had ever been Sambo’s personal assistant. Then, Sambo confirmed it.
“Witness, when questioned by the jury, you replied that the witness worked with the defendant or that the defendant was spiritual. Is the witness right?” Raghodo asked.
“Right,” Sambo replied.
Ragahdo then asked Sambo to look at the face of Irfan who was sitting in the ranks of legal advisers. Ragahdo asked how Sambo felt seeing the adhi makayasa winner also sitting as a co-defendant with Sambo in the obstructing investigation into Yosua’s murder.
“Witness, can you see the defendant here now?” Raghodo asked.
“Yes,” Sambo answered.
“I can see?” Raghado asked again.
“Yes,” Sambo replied.
“You will hear the witness repeatedly say ‘I will be responsible, I am ready to take responsibility.’ How does the witness feel when he sees the former spiritual witness, a graduate of Adhi Makayasa, now here?” Raghodo asked.
Sambo says his men are innocent in this case. Sambo also communicated it in the hearing of the code of ethics. However, his men were still on trial.
“I said earlier, that in the code of ethics commission hearing, my firing, I told them there was nothing wrong, because I didn’t say anything about the story that wasn’t true, but what happened, I’m were all blamed just because they had worked with me,” Sambo said.
“I’ll be responsible, he doesn’t know anything, I’ll be ready to take responsibility,” she continued.
It was here that Sambo admitted he was embarrassed to come face to face with his former subordinates, due to him being drawn into the CCTV tampering case. Sambo said there was nothing wrong with what Irfan did to replace CCTV.
“So if I deal with these younger brothers I will definitely be ashamed, I will definitely regret it, but in the process of examining the code of ethics, criminal investigation, I communicated where is the fault in changing the CCTV? The person does not know what he’s in it, when it’s his fault, ”Sambo said.
