Samanvayam 2023: Higher Secondary NSS Sahavasa Camps Conclude with ‘Pillution Free New Kerala’ Theme

Pathanamthitta: Higher Secondary National Service Scheme seven-day Sahavasa Camps concluded. Camps were organized in higher secondary schools of the state. This year’s theme was ‘Pillution Free New Kerala’. Along with prevention campaigns against drug addiction, various projects, activities and creative activities were organized in the camps. Coordinator Jacob John informed that the camps organized across the state under the name ‘Samanvayam 2023’ were a huge success. 1457 areas have been renovated as part of the ‘Sneharamam’ project to find and beautify dumping sites. The project, implemented in collaboration with panchayat systems, saw students create murals and gardens in the renovated spaces.

Through the ‘Haritagriham’ scheme, cloth bags, chattis etc. were made from recycled materials and distributed to households. Seven lakh products were distributed. With the aim of spreading the ideas of garbage free, anti-drug and blood donation to the general public, ‘Nadiriyam’ was performed in public spaces through dance music sculpture, drama and flashmob at more than 2000 venues.

Canvases have been placed in public spaces to convey the zero-waste message to people. In the field of voluntary blood donation, as part of the ‘Jeeddyuti Poll Blood’ project undertaken in collaboration with the Higher Secondary NSS Police, volunteers visited homes and installed the ‘Poll App’ on the phones of as many people as possible.

The students visited the elderly as part of the ‘Snehasandarshanam’ project, which prioritizes the mental health of the elderly.
