In preparation for the semi-final of the 65th International Eurovision Song Contest, Latvian representative Samanta Tīna has successfully completed her second attempt at Rotterdam’s “Ahoy” arena, the singer’s representatives informed.

“Before the second attempt, I was a little worried that in the first attempt everything was so great that in the second, something went wrong. But I tried not to let it go, and I think it was even better in this attempt, because it was no longer the first time on stage, we felt safer, we knew what to expect and what to do better. I am absolutely excited about the work of my team, about my girls, about the work of our delegation and about the work of the Eurovision team. I can’t wait for the next time I can climb this stage again with “The Moon Is Rising,” Samanta Tina opened after the rehearsal.

TV performance directing consultant Juris Matuzelis said that most of the preparations had already been made in Riga and the main task here in Rotterdam is to make sure that the performance is successfully adapted to the big stage as we intended.

“We made improvements in the first attempt, the Eurovision team was very welcoming and supportive, so in the second attempt we only had to hone the nuances. However, nothing in this world is perfect, so we will work at full capacity in future attempts. Even in the days between rehearsals, the work continues – the frame plan, lights, special effects and sound of the filmed rehearsal are analyzed, in order to continue to improve the performance in the next attempt, ”he said.

Sound director Krišjānis Geidāns, who has previously worked with Aminata and Justa’s songs at Eurovision, admits that Samanta’s vocals have been convincing and stable in both rehearsals so far: “I have no doubts or worries about vocal performance. In preparation for the Eurovision Song Contest in Riga, we recorded and analyzed many attempts to get on the big stage in Rotterdam already as prepared as possible. We have done our homework well and we will work on the nuances in future attempts. ”

Samanta Tīna’s stage costume was designed by Kasšers or Kaspars Blūms-Blūmanis, and its special accent is gloves with glittering pearl fringe, which brightens the singer’s hand movements – especially putting a crown on his head, thus symbolically reflecting the song’s message of acceptance and love. .

During the performance, backstage with Samantina Tina will also feature backing vocalists Kitty Bloom, Una Daniela Aizgale and Paul Saija. Make-up artist and hair stylist Jana Kozlova takes care of Samantha Tina’s make-up and hairstyle in Rotterdam.

CONTEXT:

The finals of the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest will take place on May 22, and the semi-finals on May 18 and May 20. The organizers of the competition have developed several scenarios to ensure the course of the competition in different epidemiological conditions.

Due to the new coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest was canceled. It was planned to take place in Rotterdam, as the Dutch representative Duncan Lawrence won the final of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019 with the ballad “Arcade”, winning the right of the Netherlands to hold the next competition. The Netherlands will exercise this right in 2021.

The rules of Eurovision stipulate that the representatives of the countries nominated in 2020 may participate in the 2021 competition, but not with the song that won last year.
