Samaná becomes the fifth destination of American Airlines in the DR

The airline American Airlines is betting heavily on Dominican Republic with the arrival to Samana, which becomes the fifth destination in the country to which the company flies after Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, Santiago de los Caballeros and Puerto Plata.

As collected Free Journal, the first flight arrived at the Presidente Juan Bosch El Catey International Airport in Samaná (AZS) last Sunday, June 6, at around 12:40, from Charlotte (North Carolina, United States).

The US airline will offer this route twice a week (Wednesdays and Saturdays). The operation is covered by an Embraer 175 with capacity for 88 passengers.

The plane was received with the traditional water arch and the celebration was attended by, among others, Oliver Bojos, CEO of American Airlines for the Dominican Republic, who stressed that with these operations they want to continue boosting tourism in the country and support the reactivation of said industry.

The aviation giant currently offers more than 130 weekly flights between the United States and the Dominican Republic, from the aforementioned Charlotte, Chicago (Illinois), Dallas-Fort Worth (Texas), Miami (Florida) and Philadelphia ( Pennsylvania).
