Sam Smith reveals details on the new Gloria album

November 11, 2022 – Zoe Groening

After Sam Smith and Kim Petras became the first non-binary and transgender artists to reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with their song “Unholy,” Smith’s next album will follow. A total of 12 more songs are expected to be heard on the album along with “Unholy”.

The release of Sam Smith’s new album is scheduled for January 27th. Gloria is Smith’s fourth studio album. In addition to the hit “Unholy” with German singer Kim Petras, which has already made it to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, fans can expect another 12 songs. A collaboration with megastar Ed Sheeran for the song “Who We Love” is also scheduled. In the next year, Smith would like to do a big tour in Europe and Britain with the new album.

Pop stars feel homophobia too

In an interview, Sam Smith revealed that there is still a lot of homophobia in this world today. Even being a celebrity doesn’t protect you from this: “I thought that as a pop star you would never get a dirty word again. That I wouldn’t experience homophobia. I just never should have tried it when I’m a star, but it still happens.” Smith identifies as non-binary and is also very open about his own sexuality. “I fall in love with whoever is falling in love with me. I don’t know who that person will be.”
