Sam Ryder: British Song Contest becomes Ukrainian party | Stars

entertainment">“I know how much it meant for Kalush (winner of 2022, ed.) and the Ukrainian delegation to organize the Eurovision song contest in their own country. And I’m not the only one who has a heavy heart now that it’s not possible. But I’d like to say to anyone watching this from Ukraine that here in Britain we know how to party,” Ryder said in a video posted to Instagram.

entertainment">According to the singer, the British enthusiasm to take over the organization is only surpassed by “the focus on that one goal of keeping space and being ready to help where necessary, and to put on an event that reflects Ukrainian culture, history and music celebrates.”

entertainment">“I have no doubt that we are all coming together in the spirit of the unity that Eurovision has always stood for,” Ryder concluded.

entertainment">The European Broadcasting Union announced on Monday that the song contest will definitely go to the United Kingdom next year. Ukraine should actually be allowed to organize the event after the win in Turin, but that is not possible because of the invasion by Russia.
