Kildare secured their spot in the Sam Maguire Cup round robin after overcoming a narrow defeat to Dublin, following Armagh’s win over Down and Louth’s win over Offaly in Croke Park earlier this afternoon. Cork, who were the only team at risk of exclusion from the top tier, have also been given the green light. Kildare will be joined by Donegal, Cork, and Westmeath as the fourth seeds for the upcoming draw. Donegal, even though they were relegated to Division 2 and lost to Down in a recent Ulster quarter-final, have retained their position as the third-seed due to their superior league status. The eight provincial finalists top the chart as the first and second seeds. Moreover, Mayo, Roscommon, Tyrone, and Monaghan will be the third-placed seeds followed by Meath, Cavan, Fermanagh, and Limerick as the top seeds in the Tailteann Cup. Lastly, Down, Offaly, Antrim, and Wicklow will be the second seeds, whereas Longford, Tipperary, Laois, and Wexford are the third seeds for the Tailteann Cup.
