Sam Altman will return to OpenAI – Meduza

Sam Altman will once again take over as CEO of OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT. How reported company, an “agreement in principle” has been reached with Altman to return to OpenAI. The company, the statement says, will also change its board of directors, and another co-founder, Greg Brockman, who left OpenAI after Altman, will return to it.

Altman, who agreed to move to Microsoft, confirmed return to OpenAI. “I love OpenAI and everything I have done in recent days has been aimed at preserving the team and its mission,” Altman wrote, adding that in order to achieve this goal, he, in part, agreed to go to Microsoft.

According to Altman, now that the board of directors has changed, he is returning to OpenAI and looks forward to developing the company’s strong partnership with Microsoft.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, in turn, assuredthat the corporation is “encouraged by the changes in the OpenAI board of directors” and agrees that Altman will return to the post of head of the company that develops ChatGPT.

“I returned to OpenAI and started coding again,” wrote Brockman on social network X.

OpenAI’s board of directors announced on November 17 that it had fired one of the company’s founders, Sam Altman, as CEO and removed him from the board. The reason given for this decision was that Altman “has not been consistently forthcoming in his communications with the board, which has interfered with his ability to carry out his duties.”

Following Altman’s dismissal, Greg Brockman announced his departure from the company. 95% of the company’s employees signed an open letter demanding Altman’s reinstatement, threatening to resign otherwise.
