Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, Joins Billionaire Club: Forbes Ranking & Investments

Forbes magazine reported that Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, the creator of the ChatGPT program, has become a billionaire.

Altman, who became one of the most prominent faces of the global artificial intelligence boom following the launch of his “Chat GPT” software company in late 2022, entered the magazine’s list of billionaires, occupying the 2692nd place among the richest people in the world.

The magazine specialized in financial affairs reported that Altman’s wealth came mainly from his investments in emerging companies, such as Reddit, whose shares were recently listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and the payments company “Stripe”, whose value is currently estimated at $65 billion.

The 38-year-old has also invested in more recent projects, including the nuclear energy company Helion and the startup Retro Biosciences, which specializes in life-extension products.

Forbes said his wealth, which includes major properties in California and Hawaii, was estimated based on public filings and investigative reports.

Altman stressed that he does not own shares in the company “OpenAI”, which made him famous internationally and whose value is estimated at about $80 billion.

Last week, American singer Taylor Swift officially entered the billionaire club, according to Forbes, with a fortune estimated at $1.1 billion.
