Salzburg Taxi Guild Launches Pilot Project for Exclusive E-Taxi Charging Station with Salzburg AG

The Salzburg Taxi Guild is taking a big step into the future together with Salzburg AG. Since mid-April, a quick charging station has been in operation in the Nonntal district of Salzburg, which is reserved exclusively for Salzburg e-taxis.

The pilot project wants to contribute to the expansion of climate-neutral mobility in Salzburg. A charging station with two charging points is now available to the taxi trade. Depending on the vehicle to be charged, it can be charged with a maximum of 150 kW of electricity. Depending on the e-taxi model, it should then be possible to charge to 80 percent in around 30 minutes.

“In order to promote the conversion of our taxis to e-models, we have agreed on a cooperation with Salzburg AG for the use of an exclusive charging infrastructure only for e-taxis. The pilot site in Nonntal […] is well received by our colleagues, which is why we are already thinking about implementing other locations,” says Erwin Leitner, chairman of the Salzburg taxi guild.

Salzburg AG, as the responsible energy and infrastructure service provider, is also convinced of the cooperation: “With the first fast charger exclusively for e-taxis, we are promoting the expansion of climate-neutral mobility in the city of Salzburg together with the taxi guild. The energy turnaround can only succeed hand in hand with the mobility turnaround,” said the two board members of Salzburg AG, Michael Baminger and Brigitte Bach. so called
