Even before taking the field against Benfica in Luz, Salzburg made history in the Champions League by fielding the youngest eleven ever presented by a team in the competition, with an average age of 21 years and 183 days. This feat gains even more relevance after the result obtained by the Austrians today in Lisbon, after all this same eleven collected all three points on the visit to Benfica’s stronghold, in the first round of the Champions group stage, and went on to lead in isolation.
