Salvation: Reviving Classic Arab Cinema with Director Abeer Abdullah

Dubai – Hilal Al Yazidi

The movie “Salvation” by Saudi director Abeer Abdullah is not repeated often, as it is a movie classified as one of the classic films in Arab cinema that we have known in the last third of the last century, and in which the elaborate dialogue and the beautiful picture were the most important elements of it, in addition to the directing that extracts the spirit of the actors without them realizing it.

And the film re-exhumed and revived classic films, to consolidate the human sense in the era of artificial intelligence, and this is in the interest of future generations, and the cinematic movement in the region and the world.

Director Abeer Abdullah Al-Subaie is one of the first women who contributed to the renaissance of Saudi women’s cinema and Saudi Gulf cinema in general, and her films won awards in international festivals.

The story of the film deals with the psychological conflict between the desire for power, exclusivity, and sincerity while remaining subordinate within a suspenseful framework in which the material interests of those involved mix, while the trump card is in the hands of the character who seeks to preserve the ancient historical legacy of the family and the major institution that has been running it for decades.
