Il Spring Championship 1 of Napoli ended today. Frustalupi’s boys faced Hellas Verona at the Giuseppe Piccolo Stadium and came out defeated by the challenge. After taking the lead with the usual Ambrosino, the azzurrini got themselves back from Caia’s goals, on a penalty kick, and, at the end of the second half, Bosilj’s goal condemned the Azzurri.

This result further complicated the team’s path to safety; the defeat, in fact, prevented the blue to guarantee his stay in the top flight and now they will have to face Genoa in the playout.
After a convincing start to the season that had allowed Frustalupi’s men to get 25 points in the first round and the momentary second position in the standings, the blue ride was abruptly interrupted. Various injuries and subdued performances were the causes of the collapse of the Azzurri. An extraordinary Ambrosino was not enough to avoid the playouts which are now a real last resort.
Spring Championship Playout 1: the rules
The regulation of the Primavera 1 Championship provides, in fact, that the 15th and 16th classified face each other in a double challenge valid for salvation.
Napoli, having classified themselves in front of Genoa, will have the advantage of hosting the return match at home. Whoever has scored more goals at the end of the second leg will be saved. In case of equal number of goals scored, the away goals rule applies.
In the event of a perfect tie, the match will end in extra time with possible penalties.
The first match between Genoa and Naples will be played on May 20, while the decisive return match will be played on May 26; at the Giuseppe Piccolo Stadium in Cercola, the azzurrini will need the maximum support of the public.
