Maurizio Salvadorifather of Lucathe 32-year-old driver who died on September 15 while competing in a racing race in Frohburg, Germany Superbike of the IRRC, the International Road Race Championship, is suing the organizers of the motorcycle race. Salvadori announced it in a video published on his son’s YouTube channel, which has over 600 thousand subscribers, pointing the finger above all at the protective barriers that blew away upon impact with the motorbike, opening a passage towards some bales of hay against which Luca crashed. According to the father “it was enough to place the protections vertically, parallel to the track, to avoid the tragedy”.
Salvadori’s father: “Certain people cannot hold roles of responsibility”
Salvadori also attacks the organizers and rescuers, given that immediately after the accident “their only concern was to restore the track to resume the race”. During the interrogation with the police “one of the organisers, defining the intervention of the police as superfluous, defined Luca’s fatal accident as ‘normal administration’. People like this – continues Maurizio Salvadori in the video – must be removed from roles of responsibility for the competition”. The judicial process “is a long, difficult and very expensive process”, also because “I understand that it is the first time that a lawsuit has been brought in the case of a fatal accident. But it is my duty to do so. Something must change – he concludes – because certain things never happen again.”
