At the Inclusive Sports City, in front of their fans, Salvadoreñas won with authority over Batanecas with a final score of 80-59, thus ensuring a place in the semifinals of the 2024 Apertura Tournament of the Tigo Sports Cup of the Major Women’s Basketball League (LMBF).
Under the direction of strategist Eduardo Escalante, Salvadoreñas closed the second round with a solid record of 8 wins and 2 losses, momentarily placing themselves at the top of the standings with 18 points, waiting for what San Salvador does, with 16 , in his last two commitments.
According to the LMBF competition format, after the second round has concluded, the first two places in the table go directly to the semi-finals, while the teams ranked third to sixth will play a three-game series (3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5) for the other two places in the semifinals.

The figure of the night was the Cuban Bexy Claro, reinforcement of Salvadoreñas, who closed the night with a double-double of 23 points and 19 rebounds, in addition to five assists. Of course, it also commands two individual categories: points (264) and efficiency (360).
The first quarter saw Salvadoreñas take the lead with a score of 23-16 over San Sebastián, showing from the beginning their determination to secure victory and a place in the semis. Despite Batanecas’ efforts to come back in the last quarter, Salvadoreñas maintained production and closed the match with a run of 20-14, thus sealing their undisputed victory 80-59 and securing their ticket to the semifinals of the tournament.
This weekend the three remaining games for the conclusion of the second round will be played. Santa Ana-Santa Tecla and Batanecas-San Salvador will be played on Saturday at the Gimnasio David Vega Mojica and the Cancha Tacón, respectively. While on Sunday, San Salvador will host LMMR at the Inclusive Sports City.
