In the Pan American Table Tennis, Salvadoran athletes advanced to the second round in the individual event against top world competitors
The Salvadorans who are competing in the Pan American Table Tennis Championships 2024, based in the country, were unable to advance testing of individual branches. The most notable were Diego Orantes and Gabriela Suárez, from the national delegation, since they managed to reach the second round.
In the women’s round of 32, Suárez fell to the Brazilian Giulia Takahashi, by 0-4 (11-13, 8-11, 7-, 3-), leaving them without the option of reaching the third round (1/16).

Meanwhile, Orantes lived the same experience and stayed until the same time. The Canadian stopped him Edward Ly, one of the candidate tennis players in the event as he is the most recent champion of the Pan American Cup, with a close score of 2-4 (9-11, 11-8, 11-8, 7-11, 3-11 and 10-12 ).
The Salvadoran couples, in the men’s, women’s and mixed doubles, had already been eliminated. Everyone could not advance from the first round: in men 1/16 and in women and mixed 1/32.
However, the nationals have the last opportunity to show their best work, as the continental men’s and women’s team competitions remain. In the men’s first matchup, the Salvadorans will see action against Ecuador. While in ladies, the Cuscatlecas have their key before Cuba. The team competitions will be held tomorrow, at 10:00 am and 12:00 pm, for ESA.
