This week, Salvadoran soccer will have an agenda full of emotions in international competitions, from the match between Alianza vs Firpo, in the CONCACAF Central American Cup, to the preliminary round match between Alianza Women vs Vancouver Whitecaps FC to aspire to the group stage of the Confederation’s W Champions Cup.
The first match will take place this Tuesday, August 13, at 8 pm, at the Cuscatlán stadium, between Alianza and Firpo, which will be the second match for the Albos in the regional competition and the third for the Toros.
Alianza will be the home team at the “Colossus of Monserrat”. The team hopes to add points, since in the previous match against “los cremas” from Guatemala, the capital team lost by the minimum and by own goal. Even with points to play for, the team has more opportunities to add points than its rival Firpo, which will play its third match without any chance of advancing to date due to the defeat and a draw.
Prices for this event are: general sun $6, preferential north sun $8, north shade $12, mixed super stalls $22, level 12 $35. For Firpo fans: preferential south sun $8, and south shade $12.
On Wednesday, at 4:00 pm, Águila will host Port Layola from Belize at the Las Delicias national stadium, the second game for the feathered team and the first at home. Previously, the team was able to add a point in the debut against Antigua GFC in Guatemala, so it has a greater chance than the other Salvadoran clubs of dreaming of making it to the next phase.
Prices for Águila vs Port Layola are $5.00 general east, $5.00 south preferential visitor and $15.00 grandstand. The last international match of this week will be played between Alianza Women vs Vancouver Whitecaps FC, this Thursday, August 15, at 6:00 pm at the Cuscatlán stadium, a sports venue where the current women’s soccer champions will fight for a ticket to the W Champions Cup.
The team qualified for the preliminary round after winning the Clausura 2024 tournament title, and if they get a ticket to the next phase they would face América from Mexico, San Fe from Panama and two American clubs.
