The delegation of Salvadoran karatekas once again raises the name of El Salvador, after becoming winners of first place for the fourth consecutive time in the XXIX Central American Karate Championship (CCONDEKA 2024) that took place in the birthplace of Mágico Gonzalez between the 22nd to February 24th.
For 3 days, more than 400 athletes from El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Belize and Mexico competed in 33 categories of the Central American Karate Championship (CCONDEKA 2024). In this championship the delegation of Salvadoran karatekas triumphed, placing first with 23 gold medals, 25 silver and 47 bronze medals.
In second place was the Costa Rican delegation, with 16 gold, 20 silver and 30 bronze medals. And in third place is the delegation of Panama with 15 gold, 10 silver and 23 bronze.
Among the Salvadoran karatekas who stood out were Helen Galán and Omar Morales. Galán won 3 gold medals in the senior women’s kata, women’s U21 kata and women’s senior kumite -50 kg categories, and a bronze medal in women’s U21 kumite -50 kg.
For his part, Omar Morales achieved a gold medal in U21 men’s Kumite -67.0kg, a silver medal in men’s senior kumite in the -67 kg category and a bronze medal in under-21 kata.
