The Finance and Special Budget Commission of the Legislative Assembly received representatives from Cruz Verde Salvadoreña (CVS) this morning to explain the work carried out during 2024 with the allocated state funds.
The relief institution, founded 54 years ago, had a budget of $550,000 for 2024. Every year, on a quarterly basis, Cruz Verde receives from the State, through the Ministry of Health (MINSAL), a subsidy that is executed through activities programmed in the budget presented at the beginning of each year with the execution plan established regarding institutional objectives.
According to the president of CVS, Luis Laínez, from January to October 30 of this year they attended a total of 14,128 pre-hospital emergency services, among the 26 sections that constitute it.
Laínez indicated to the deputies of the Finance Commission that public money has been distributed in human work equipment, in fuel for ambulances, in maintenance of the vehicle fleet, in leasing of premises and sectional uses, they also invested in communication channels and in occasional operating expenses.
By 2025, this entity requests an increase of $200 thousand to serve the population in an opportunity and buy more ambulances.
