Cyclists from different municipalities of San Salvador and Cuscatlán undertook a “pedaling for sustainability” to identify road signage needs.

The “pedal for sustainability” was a 93 km route that more than 100 cyclists completed this Sunday morning. The starting point was San Bartolomé Perulapía (Cuscatlán), they went down through Suchitoto to continue their destination to Aguilares, Guazapa, Tonacatepeque, San Martín and thus return, again to San Bartolomé Perulapía

According to Jesús López, coordinator of the “Without a Bicycle, There is no Planet” Program of the Salvadoran Center for Appropriate Technology (CESTA), the objective was to identify the needs that may exist on the roads to ensure road safety for cyclists.

The groups that accompanied the pedaling were: CESTA, Los Tóxicos Bikers (from San Bartolomé), Equilibro (Aguilares), cyclists from Paisnal, from Guazapa, Tonacatepeque, “there are many groups of cyclists who have joined together to do this route, for later make a proposal to the VMT (Vice Ministry of Transportation) and the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) so that the needs most felt by cyclists can be taken into consideration.”
