Institutions of the Health Sector of the state of Colima maintain various vaccination modules against Covid-19 in the entity, for which the Ministry of Health, headed by Martha Janeth Espinosa Mejía, reiterated the invitation to the people of Colima who have not yet received the vaccine or They do not have a complete vaccination schedule, so they can go to these care centers.
The Epidemiology Sub-Directorate announced that, as far as the Ministry of Health is concerned, these anti-covid vaccination modules are located in the three health jurisdictions from Monday to Friday: the one on San Fernando Avenue at the corner with Ignacio Sandoval de Colima; the two in Cocoteros 960, Palma Real neighborhood in Tecomán; and the three in the old hospital of San Pedrito, in Manzanillo.
They are also from Monday to Friday in various units of the Mexican Social Security Institute: in Colima (UMF 19), in Tecomán (municipal office) and Manzanillo (UMF 17); also at the Hospital Clinic “Dr. Miguel Trejo Ochoa” from the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) on Avenida Ignacio Sandoval in Colima, and at the ISSSTE clinic in Manzanillo.
The Colima Ministry of Health indicated that to prevent protection against the SARS-CoV2 virus from diminishing over time, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that all eligible people receive booster doses of any of the approved vaccines. 4 to 6 months after the second dose or as soon as possible after 6 months.
He reiterated that the Covid-19 vaccines that are used offer protection against severe illness, hospitalizations, and death caused by known variants. The anti-covid vaccine is not for sale in the private sector because the Constitution establishes that, in the event of a serious epidemic, danger of invasion of communicable diseases, emergency situations or catastrophe, the Ministry of Health will be the one who dictates the measures essential to prevent and combat damage to health.
Thus, the Government of Mexico, through the Ministry of Health, issued the National Vaccination Policy as the national governing document that contains the operational strategy of the vaccination process in Mexican territory.
