Salma Hayek with Channing Tatum in ‘Magic Mike’ sequel

Hollywood star Channing Tatum (41) gets female support with Salma Hayek (55) for the continuation of the stripper story about “Magic Mike”. Hayek, who most recently starred in “Eternals” and “House of Gucci,” joins the cast of “Magic Mike’s Last Dance,” US industry publications Variety and The Hollywood Reporter reported on Wednesday.

Hayek replaces the originally intended actress Thandiwe Newton (49, “Westworld”), who had to leave at short notice for family reasons, as the Warner Bros. studio told the sheets. Filming has just started in the UK, it said.

Oscar winner Steven Soderbergh brought the stripper comedy “Magic Mike” to cinemas in 2012. The sequel Magic Mike XXL (2015) was directed by Gregory Jacobs. The third part about the stripper Mike Lane (Tatum) is again directed by Soderbergh.

Tatum, who began his career as a dancer and model, also worked part-time as a stripper in Florida. After the cinema success, the US actor also created dance shows in Australia, London and Berlin under the name “Magic Mike”.
