Rome, Jul 26 (EFE).- Actor Javier Bardem will attend the 79th Venice Film Festival with the short film “Look at me” by British director Sally Potter, which will be presented out of competition in the Horizontes Extra section of this festival, to which it is “possible” that the other protagonist of the short, the humorist Chris Rock, will also attend.
Alberto Barbera, the director of the exhibition that will start on August 31, reported today at a press conference that the veteran British director is returning to Venice with this short film starring Bardem and Chris Rock.
“It is a short film with two extraordinary actors, and it is possible that Chris Rock, who is touring Europe these days with his show, could be in the presentation of this short film that lasts 15 minutes,” said Barbera.
If this is finally confirmed, Rock will be in Venice after actor Will Smith slapped him at the last Oscar gala for joking about his wife’s alopecia.
It is not the first time that Bardem has filmed with Sally Potter, since the Madrid actor also placed himself at his command in the film “The paths we do not choose” (2020).
The Spanish presence in this edition of the Venice Film Festival will also feature the Spanish-Argentine filmmaker Juan Diego Botto, who will compete in the Horizons section with his first feature film as a director, “On the Margins”, starring Penélope Cruz. EFE
