This February 27 marks one year since the start of the vaccination campaign against covid-19 in the country.
The Minister of Health, Daniel Salinas, recalled this milestone on his Twitter account. “I thank those who made it possible: advising, planning, vaccinators and citizens for the response,” said the chief.
Along with the comment, he also shared a video that summarizes this year of vaccination in just two minutes. From the arrival of the first doses to the program “Pueblo a pueblo”, the opening of the agenda to the children and the possibility of being inoculated with a booster dose, the clip shows diverse images and data of everything that happened this year where the Uruguayans rolled up their sleeves and got vaccinated.
At the time of writing this note, there are more than 2.5 million people inoculated with the second dose of the vaccine throughout the country, which means 77.10% of the population. Also, almost two million Uruguayans were given the booster dose, that is, 54.36% of the total.
