Thrissur – Salesian monk brother Artemis Sathi to holiness. Celebrations in Thrissur. Br. Artemis Sati, who was a member of the Salesian monastic community founded by Don Bosco, will be canonized by Pope Francis on 9 October 2022 in the Vatican. As part of his canonization, the Don Bosco Sanya Samayam Kerala unit will hold a celebration at the Don Bosco School, Thrissur Mannutthi at 2.30pm.

The Catholic Church canonizes people who have led a life of extraordinary holiness and service that can serve as an example to the world. Artemis Saati was born on December 12, 1880 in Borrito, Italy. Subsequently, Saati’s family emigrated from Italy to Argentina in 1897.

In 1908 he joined the monastic community in the Salesian community and devoted his entire life to missionary service. He was known in Argentine society as the relative of the poor. It is the first time that a non-priest friar has been included in the list of Saints of the Salesian Family established by Don Bosco.
