ANNOUNCEMENTS•
One of the largest providers of airline tickets, Otravo, has stopped selling. The Dutch company does not organize trips directly, but mediates in tickets, hotel reservations and car rentals through Vliegtickets.nl and WTC.nl, among others.
On the site vliegtickets.nl informs Otravo that the company has decided “until further notice to stop selling tickets from Thursday 15 December”. It is unclear why the sale was halted. The company’s management agrees a declaration not available for comment at this time.
Those who have already received a ticket do not have to do anything, according to the message. “Your reservation has been confirmed.” Travelers who have not yet received a ticket are advised to contact the relevant airline. It makes no sense to call airlinetickets.nl customer service, as they are not available.
KLM airline says against in a response The Telegraph that customers who have booked a KLM ticket through the Otravo sites can travel as usual.
Otravo was founded in early 2014 from the merger of Vliegtickets and WTC.nl. Subsequently, other companies were taken over, including Dutch Holiday Discounter. That lot sold earlier this year. Otravo has an annual turnover of approximately 2 billion euros.
