“Sales of Wuling Air ev Increase by 80% in April After Government Subsidy Program”

Sales of Wuling Air ev claimed to have increased dramatically after being rewarded with ‘subsidies’ for electric cars earlier this month. In fact, sales throughout April 2023 skyrocketed by 80 percent compared to the previous month.

Ricky Christian as the Marketing Strategy and Promotion Manager of Wuling Motors said that the ‘subsidy’ of electric cars had a significant impact on sales of Wuling Air ev in Indonesia. That is why, he said he was happy with the assistance.

“We are very grateful after this incentive, we have more or less an increase of 70-80 percent compared to March. It went up immediately,” said Ricky when met in Jakarta recently.

Ricky explained, the ‘subsidy’ program for Wuling Air ev has been running since early April after it was inaugurated by the government. He ensured that all vehicle buyers would automatically be directed to the subsidy program.

Interestingly, according to the Minister of Finance Regulation or PMK that his party received, buyers of subsidized electric cars are not limited. In fact, previously subsidized electric cars were limited to only around 35 thousand units.

“The last regulation that we received is that there is no purchase quota either from the valid PMK socialization,” he said.

Apart from that, still referring to PMK, Ricky also ensured that there were no special requirements for purchasing subsidized Wuling Air ev. In fact, according to him, the purchase scheme is still the same as in previous months, or before it was subsidized.

“Really, from the consumer’s point of view, it will automatically apply immediately, because the process is carried out by Wuling itself for reporting and other things. So if consumers buy, it’s just like normal,” he said.

It is known that the Wuling Air ev is one of two electric car models that receive a ‘subsidized’ share from the government. The assistance is in the form of a tax cut from the original 11 percent to only 1 percent.
