JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Honda’s Enhanced Smart Architecture Frame (eSAF) issue, which is said to be easily corroded and broken, does not affect sales of used motorbikes.
At least, that’s what Dani (44), the person in charge of Damitra Motor, feels about buying and selling used two-wheeled vehicles in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.
According to him, the eSAF issue does not affect consumer interest in buying used Honda motorbikes, both new and old ones.
“Still, there are still many who buy, Honda resale, there are still many who are looking for it,” he said when met at his showroom in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, Sunday (3/9/2023).

However, Dani does not deny that some of his customers are reluctant to buy the latest Honda brand used motorbikes.
He said that a handful of buyers were quite worried about the eSAF framework.
“There are some who are worried (about the frame), but very little. Once upon a time a consumer came here and looked for a used motorbike whose year was a bit old because of that issue,” said Dani
“They said they were afraid there would be something on the frame. That’s why they chose a used motorbike that was a bit old,” he said.
However, when viewed as a whole, sales of used motorcycles over the last few months have been running normally.
Motorists who are suspected of using the eSAF frame are still in demand.
Because, according to Dani, the most important thing is engine health, body health, electricity and paperwork.
“So far, when we buy reusable units, the frame doesn’t work. So what we see is that if someone sells a motorbike here, check the engine, check the body, and electricity. Then we do a test drive, and we also check the completeness of the documents,” said Dani.
“For the framework, we can’t even check the type of frame, because that also takes time. Because so far we haven’t experienced various problems in the frame,” he said.
The eSAF framework is a hot topic of conversation in cyberspace, especially for automotive enthusiasts.
The eSAF frame that Honda introduced in 2019 is allegedly porous and breaks easily, so it can be dangerous for motorists who ride it.
