Sales are estimated at 150 thousand million pesos during ‘El Buen Fin’

Mexico City. The Ministry of Economy (SE) estimates that sales during ‘El Buen Fin 2024’ will be greater than 150 billion pesos, as there is optimism regarding the consumption carried out by the population from November 15 to 18.

“The Good End in itself is a measure to facilitate consumption, expand consumption and increase economic activity, it has been successful,” said Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón, head of the federal agency in a conference to present the economic reactivation program. .

He noted that in 2023 there was an increase of 11.5 percent compared to the previous year’s edition, a figure “slightly” above inflation. “This year we hope that we will have an even better result, that is what we hope will happen, then it will be a success as a measure to increase consumption, increase investment and increase liquidity,” said Ebrard Casaubón.

“We expect an increase in consumption compared to last year, that is what is planned and I could almost say that without fear of being wrong it will be higher and even more so if you compare it with inflation,” he added.

The figure estimated by the federal government in economic benefits is lower than that predicted by the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco-Servytur), which is 165 billion pesos, 10 percent more than that reported in 2023.

The head of the SE commented that the objectives of this economic reactivation program are to achieve the best prices in the year for the population both in products and services and to support Mexican companies, “to facilitate having an occasion, a moment in the year in which they can have higher sales than the rest of the months, perhaps with the exception of the end of the year, and of course the producers.”

Iván Escalante Ruiz, head of the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) indicated that since September, the agency has been monitoring the prices of the products in greatest demand, allowing them to verify if there really was a reduction in prices.

In 29 cities throughout the country, it monitors 489 products, including screens, appliances, audio systems, computer equipment, cell phones, fans, among other appliances.

He noted that for this edition, Profeco will deploy 1,263 people in the field who will carry out surveillance visits in 326 shopping centers throughout the country, so the staff will be available to reconcile at the moment, always defending the rights of the consumers.

In addition, you will have the Consumer Telephone number, 55 5568 8722, to file complaints or reports. “Our recommendation for this ‘Buen Fin’ is to make purchases responsibly. Establish a spending plan, prioritize essential products or services and avoid acquiring new debt,” he noted.
