Sunday Masses mark the time left for Monsignor Claudio Raimondo to reach the end of his mandate as prior of the church of the Annunziata in Salerno and leave the place to the new appointee for which, the municipal administration has rushed to renovate the rectory that will have to accommodate him. Unprecedented speed, for some, dictated by the fact that the new prior would have risked not having a place to go and live considering that, according to what has been reported, despite the renovation carried out a decade ago, the two-story apartment intended for him would be uninhabitable.
In short, in order not to leave the prior in the middle of the street, the council has recovered 45 thousand euros to be used to move the bathroom and kitchen to a single level (with plasterboard walls). So far, the works that, with great urgency, have been assigned to the rectory to provide accommodation for the prior. In the meantime, however, no one at the Town Hall has noticed (the sacred building, in fact, is owned by the Municipality) that even inside the church worrying signs of deterioration are beginning to be seen, both inside and outside.
