The State Policein full synergy with the Financial Police and the port authoritiescontinues patrolling and controlling the coastal areas of Salerno affected by the presence of tourists and yachtsmen. The finding of an increase in crimes, largely due to the abuse of alcohol and narcotics, has determined the need to continue to set up targeted control services along the roads – maritime and road – which leads to the Masuccio Salernitano Pier and to the Marina d’Arechi Tourist Portas agreed upon in the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety and of Technical Table at the police station.
The services concern both seaside resorts, carried out by the police of the Salerno Police Headquarters on board the jet skiswhich are connected road traffic and are aimed at acquiring documentation of boats and vehicles to verify their regularity, as well as ascertaining the blood alcohol level and any use of narcotic substances by drivers to prevent the deplorable phenomenon of driving pleasure boats and vehicles under the influence of alcohol.
Prevention activity is a fundamental tool to strengthen the level of safety by greatly reducing the risk of accidents and contributing to the diffusion of the culture of legality and peaceful social coexistence. In particular on Wednesday afternoon July 31, 2024 the following were checked:
- 115 people;
- 32 vehicles, 3 of which were traffic violations;
- 30 boats with related breathalysers performed and a further check on the dock with a breathalyser.
