Salerno, great support for the dockers’ strike

Port workers Napoli e Salerno today in the presence of the strike of the operations workers at the Campania airports which also involved the workers of Castellammare. At the center of the protest, the defense of the national collective agreement and the demand for a fair wage “which allows workers’ purchasing power to be recovered“.

“Excellent participation in the strike and demonstrations – underlines the general secretary of Filt-Cgil Campania, Angelo Lustro – dapart from the workers in the ports of Naples and Salerno. One of our delegations was also present at the national event organized by the CGIL CISL UIL of transport. The port workers gave an adequate response to send a tangible signal to the employers’ associations in the sector, so that they take note that the issues raised by the union must be addressed and resolved without delay and hesitation. Obviously in Campania both the strike and the demonstrations could not fail to take into account the latest fatal accidents last year in Salerno and a few weeks ago in Naples. Protection and safety remain a crucial and important point for the activities carried out by employees within the port areas. Obviously if the national table does not make progress, we will carry out further union protest action“.
