Fire at Salernovia fra Generoso reopened in both directions. The Mobility Councillor of the Municipality of Salerno announced it, Rocco Galdi which is monitoring the situation regarding the critical issues on city traffic following the fire that broke out a few days ago on Mount Bonadies.
«There were problems – the councilor told the press – both to the city traffic and to the motorway and ring road. From a safety point of view, in the meantime, the technicians have secured the hillside. More than 120 trees have been cut down. The fire has developed on 5 hectares of land. It is clear that it was an environmental disaster. from this point of view. We have the elements to affirm with relative certainty that it was a fire of arson and it was started in several places. In addition to via fra Generoso, another road that raised some critical issues was via Salvatore de Renzi which will not be reopened because there are still problems from a safety point of view. The work has yet to begin as we are talking about two parcels, 211 and 2447 which are private. For the first, there is an ongoing legal procedure, therefore we are confident in a prefectural order to begin the work. Therefore, on via de Renzi, we cannot yet speak of reopening as, following the order, the work will then have to be carried out. It will take about thirty days».
