This year too the US Salerno 1919 is at the forefront of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Womenwhich falls on November 25th. The Granata club will support the Anna Borsa association, which bears the name of the young girl brutally killed in March 2022 in Pontecagnano Faianowith a series of targeted initiatives.
This afternoon the Granata club symbolically donated one of the special Lega Serie B balls with which the matches of the fourteenth day of the Serie BKT championship will be played, including Sassuolo-Salernitana. On the ground of the Arechi stadium, Ernesto Torregrossa delivered the ball into the hands of Stefania De Martinolawyer for the family of Anna Borsa which has always fought for the protection of women victims of violence.
Then there is the charitable background. The shirts of the eleven starters who will take to the pitch for Saturday’s match at the Mapei Stadium against Sassuoloin fact, they will be auctioned on the specialized CharityStars portal in the days following the match. The proceeds will be donated to the association founded in January by Vincenzo Borsa, Anna’s brother, who is responsible for testifying with his own experience to the atrocity of feminicide and raising public awareness on the delicate issue.
Furthermore, at the end of Sassuolo-Salernitana, mister Colantuono and the other Granata members who will make statements in the press room and/or mixed zone will do so with their chests on a sticker with the Anna Borsa association logodepicting the woman’s intense blue eye.
Finally, Anna’s friends and relatives will meet on Monday 25 November at Campo Volpe in Salerno to compete a football match in his memoryin the presence of some players from the first team and Luca Fusco, former Granata captain and coach of the Primavera team: kick-off at 7.30pm.
