Civic Platform politicians – Agnieszka Pomaska, Tadeusz Aziewicz and Janusz Lewandowski – announced on Saturday that they had reported the possibility of committing a criminal offense in connection with the sale Lotus by Saudi Aramco. – Today we file a notification to the prosecutor’s office about the possibility of criminal offense by public officials responsible for the preparation and signing of the agreement on the sale of parts of Lotos – said Agnieszka Pomaska.
“This deal hasn’t seen the light of day before and it looks like it should. The Polish prosecutor’s office, the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau, should be interested in this deal. We are very surprised that so far no service in Poland has covered the processes in which this deal was concluded with the anti-corruption shield and has not taken any action after the material appeared in the “Black and White” program on TVN24, which quite clearly suggests that they could very serious irregularities had occurred in the sale of parts of Lotos, he noted.
– We expect the state services entrusted for this purpose to professionally deal with the issue of the sale of Lotos, the acquisition of part of this company by Saudi Aramco and the consideration of the possible consequences of signing this agreement and its implementation – emphasized the deputy.
Sale of Lotus to Saudi Aramco: what is it about?
TVN24 “Black on White” reporters reached draft agreement between Orlen and Saudi Aramco. The document dated June 2022 concerns the sale of 30 percent. shares of Rafineria Gdańska to the Saudis as part of the merger Orlen with lotus. At that time, the European Commission approved all merger deals. “The draft is not much different or is the final version of the contract” – emphasizes in the report “Hostages of the contract”.
The draft was supposed to contain a provision stating that Orlen would not take any action listed in a separate annex if Saudi Aramco vetoed it.
