On July 28 and 29, the “Saldus Saule” festival will take place in Saldu, Kalnseta Park. In addition to the previously announced artists, the bands “The Sound Poets”, “Oranžas Brīvdienas” and “The Hobos Club” will join the festival stage.
“The Sound Poets” album “Pie vienas oguns” was nominated last year for the “Zelta mikrofons” Latvian music recording of the year award in the “Pop music album” category, while the title song of the album was nominated in the “Song of the Year” category. Group leader Jānis Aišpurs says about the upcoming performance at the festival: “After the acoustic concert tour that just took place, we, “The Sound Poets”, will be happy to be with you at the “Saldus Saule” festival – now in a louder version!”
Latvian turbo-folk group “Oranžas Brivdienas” does not require comments – strong, positive and endowed with screaming energy. On the other hand, “The Hobos Club” or THC is intriguing from the point of view of the composition – the trio of “The Hobos” band Egon Kronbergs, Mārtiņš Burkevics and Vilnis Krieviņš play music in it, joined by the great guitarist and long-time supporter of “The Hobos” Ainis Rudzītis. On the festival stage, the musicians will mainly perform the golden repertoire of “The Hobos”, but there may also be a surprise.
Legendary musical groups and artists such as “Pērkons”, “Līvi”, Ivo Fomins, “Sudden Lights”, “The Adventures of the Milkman”, “Innokenty Marple”, “Linga” and many others will also perform at the festival this year. It should be reminded that the first festival “Saldus Saule” took place way back in 1987. The previous festival, held in 2022 after a two-year break, gathered a particularly large number of visitors.
