The first store of the international retail chain “SPAR” in Latvia will be opened on August 11 in Saldu, Rīgas street 8. The area of the first store will be 720 m2, and there will also be a special bakery area.
“We are happy to take the first step towards our five-year goal and open the first of at least 200 planned stores of the SPAR network in Latvia. This store will be more than a simple sales place, as its wall will be decorated with sketches of the works of a local artist,” says Andris Vilcmeiers, chairman of the board of SPAR Latvija.
The store will open on August 11 at 10.00 Chairman of the board of “SPAR Latvija” Andris Vilcmeiers, member of the board of SIA “SKARLETA” Artūrs Gabaliņš and chairman of the Saldus county council Māris Zusts will take part in the ceremonial opening. After the speeches and the symbolic ribbon cutting, the store will open its doors to visitors, the first hundred of whom will receive gifts from “SPAR”.
Saldus “SPAR” will be a medium-sized backyard store with all the daily necessities, which is also the most popular store format of the “SPAR” network. In honor of local values, in the Saldus “SPAR” store, in cooperation with the Jānis Rozentāls Saldus Museum of History and Art, a wall of artworks by a local artist has been created, depicting the sketches made by Rozentāls.
It has already been reported that the main benefits of customers visiting “SPAR Latvija” network stores will be a pleasant shopping environment, high-quality service, fresh products and a competitive offer. The store assortment will consist of the Baltic’s favorite manufacturers and brands, as well as “SPAR” private label products from all main product groups. The products of “SPAR” economic, premium, bio and eco lines will be on the shelves of Latvian stores. The company’s plan is to give local manufacturers the opportunity to offer their products in “SPAR” stores and help them increase the share of products, as well as be the first to offer new products from local manufacturers in their stores.
